SRB new board member Spotlight
Following are three questions with new SRB Boardmember Merrilyn Sikora
How long have you lived in Broomfield? Relocating from Massachusetts, Merrilyn has lived in Broomfield for 14 years. She lives in the Willow Park neighborhood.
What was your career before you recently retired? Her career was in social work, specifically working in Head Start with 3 & 4-yo. Additionally, Merrilyn has worked in a Homeless Shelter prior to moving to Colorado. In December 2010, she began working at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church as a funeral coordinator and parish registrar.
What do you enjoy about serving on the SRB Board of Directors? The mother of an adult son and daughter explained that she enjoys community outreach and helping people in need. She said, “It’s good for me, too, because it’s something I’ve always wanted to do – giving back to the community.” Written by SRB board member Bette Erickson
